Our Mission

Abundant Life Assembly of God exists as a local congregation to witness to our region and world of God's love as revealed in His Son Jesus Christ, our crucified, risen, exalted and soon-returning King; and we live to serve our community in His same love and power and to worship Him, the one and only Almighty God.

Our vision is to reach, teach and equip people in our region and throughout the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

A History of Abundant Life

In 1987, Pastor and Mary Postell responded to God's call to Punta Gorda. In the years since then, the congregation has witnessed tremendous growth. We are thankful for the rich heritage that God has blessed us with.

In 1989, the congregation of Abundant Life responded to a vision of growth. At that time a congregation of 100 followed the vision to purchase 10 acres of property and build a 850 seat auditorium. The congregation was able to see that vision become a reality on Sunday, March 24, 1991. The doors were opened and since that time, our church family has continued to grow.

Each week, month and year, we are amazed how God continues to bless Abundant Life. Our God is truly awesome. He is worthy of our praise! As our church continues to grow through our weekly worship services and evangelistic crusades such as "Heaven's Gates & Hell's Flames", we must meet the challenges and opportunities of a growing congregation.

It is our desire to continue growth and also build stronger relationships within the body of Christ. "Forsake not the assembling together of yourselves."

From reaching children and youth to young and senior adults, The Holy Spirit will enable us to reach and disciple many more souls for Christ. As the church grows, the vision expands and people are added to the Kingdom of God, we are positioning ourselves to be obedient and fulfill the vision that is ever unfolding before us.
